The Simplest way to bring our awesome AEI artists to your U.S. Embassy Post

Updated: Oct 6

Let us Help! Proud partners of the U.S. State Department's Cultural Affairs (ECA) sections since 2011 – our artists are always eager to share their artistry and know-how with fellow humans around the world.

But, you ask...

How much does it cost?

As you probably know, when a program is sponsored by a U.S. ECA entity such as Arts Envoy (AE), or Africa Regional Services (ARS*) the total cost to the Post varies in function of = (number of artists) x (number of days)**.

#fulldisclosure ECA entities must adhere to strict guidelines for honoraria and general expenses – so, all told, the most variable costs are for airfare, lodging, and program logistics (venue, equipment, publicity, etc.).

To give you an idea of how this might break down for your Post, we've devised this handy chart showing the estimated cost-share range, and some typical AEI programs that fit the bill.

How can our Post apply to partner with ECA for AEI Artists?

No time? No Problem!

If you've read this far, you are probably an existing, or imminent cultural affairs officer/staff yourself.

In our experience,

  • each U.S. Post has its own protocol for organizing cultural programs of this type

  • everyone on staff is constantly bogged down with protocols and paperwork, with little time to spare

Step 1 - Use our template!

Not only do we believe strongly in the value our programs can bring to yours, we also strive to do everything in our power to make your job as easy possible throughout the process!

Arts Embassy International staff have crafted an easy fill-in-the-blank template to help you draft your initial proposal for any one of our programs.

As you can imagine, details are program-specific – so simply contact us for a sample proposal and we can help get things moving.

Step 2 - Contact ECA

Once completed, you can send the proposal to Arts Envoy and/or ARS Paris to request their direct support for your program.

Once they've agreed to provide support, then the respective ECA entity will follow up directly with us to organize the contracts with our artists (for honoraria and travel), and your team can turn its attention to organizing the nitty gritty of the local programming details.

How long does it take to set up?

AEI Artists have been mobilized in as little as 5 days

Ideally

Typically a 2-3 month planning period is ideal minimum for organizing a quality program in regards to venues, promotion, and logistics.

In a pinch...

However – our artists have established a reputation for their ability to jump to the call for a last minute replacement while consistently delivering quality, inspired, inspiring programming.

A prime example was the Tanzanian tour of our Roots 66 program in 2013 which was pulled together in less than 10 days and included one of our most memorable events - Tap Dancing with the School for the Deaf!

What's the next step?

The Art of Excellence: Performance Skills - Winners of "Djibouti's Got Talent" - Djibouti, Djibouti 2014

Our Member Artists are always at the ready to share their knowledge & talents with your audiences.

Let's talk about how we can bring them to you asap!
